March 24–28 Temple Trip
Faith in Action from Guyana to the Panama City Temple
From March 24–28, a group of 15 faithful saints from the Georgetown Guyana Mission traveled to the Panama City Temple under the loving guidance of senior missionaries, Elder and Sister Merrill.
This trip was originally organized by Elder and Sister Rigby, whose efforts helped lay the foundation. As they shifted their focus to leading another upcoming trip in May, the responsibility was passed on to the Merrills—who stepped in and led with dedication, care, and faith.
It was a blessing to meet Elder and Sister Merrill and witness firsthand their commitment to the saints they serve. Their leadership helped make this temple experience possible for so many.
One of the most meaningful parts of this trip extended beyond the temple walls.
Through the generosity of many, Temple Bound had been gathering donated clothing to send to Guyana. The Merrills graciously helped transport these items back with them—and what happened next is a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
After returning home, Sister Merrill shared this message:
“We got the suitcase full of white pants and dresses home safely and I washed and sorted them Monday morning. That same day—P-day—we had missionaries come through after sports, and as I laid the pants out, I asked if anyone needed baptismal clothing… all but 2 were gone within minutes.
One elder from Tonga was thrilled to receive a long sleeve shirt and belt. The remaining larger sizes I’m planning to give to our Elders Quorum President. He recently came to bless his baby. He’ll need them to baptize his children.”
These weren’t just clothes… they were answers to prayers.
From a single suitcase…
to missionaries in need…
to a father preparing to baptize his children.
This is why we do what we do.
Temple trips are about more than travel—they are about connection, service, and helping others take sacred steps forward. Whether it’s attending the temple or simply having the clothing needed to participate in ordinances, every detail matters.
To everyone who donated, supported, and made this possible—thank you. You are part of something bigger.
And to the saints and missionaries who continue to inspire us through their faith—thank you for reminding us what truly matters.
