From February 25–28, 2026, faithful Saints from multiple branches made the sacred journey to the Nairobi Kenya Temple. For many, this trip was not just a visit, it was an answer to prayer, a source of healing, and a powerful reminder of God’s love.
Thanks to the continued support of Temple Bound, members who otherwise struggle to afford travel to Nairobi were able to worship in the House of the Lord and participate in sacred ordinances that bless both the living and the dead.
“The Temple Takes Away All Sadness”
Mahendra shared how every visit to the temple feels different—and yet consistently filled with peace. She described feeling the Spirit each time she comes, and how the temple removes stress and sadness, replacing them with happiness.
For her, the temple is not just a destination—it’s a refuge.
She expressed hope to return whenever school closes, describing the temple as “a nice and beautiful place.” Her gratitude to Temple Bound was heartfelt, with a sincere desire that more opportunities will continue in the future.
Finding Comfort After Loss
John Kimman from the Roma Branch District spoke movingly about how the temple has drawn him closer to Heavenly Father. He shared that being in the temple helped him realize how deeply God loves and cares for His children.
After recently losing his father, John came to the temple carrying many questions. In the sacred quiet of the Lord’s house, he began to find comfort and answers.
During this visit, he performed an ordinance for his late uncle and felt great joy. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the covenants made in the temple, he testified that families can be together again. His words reflected a powerful truth: God “never wants anyone to be lost.”
He also acknowledged a very real challenge—many members struggle simply to find the money to travel to Nairobi. Temple Bound’s support made this sacred experience possible.
The Power of Covenants
Chad from Monzo Branch Elder Street reflected on the sacred nature of temple covenants. On a previous visit, he received his own endowment—an experience he approached with seriousness and preparation because he understood it to be a sacred commitment to God.
He testified that keeping temple covenants brings divine guidance throughout life. When we honor those promises, we become God’s covenant children, and He walks with us.
Chad expressed deep gratitude for God’s love and for Temple Bound’s help in overcoming financial barriers that might otherwise prevent attendance.
Strengthening Temple Workers and the Rising Generation
One temple committee member and Temple Bound worker shared how transformative this partnership has been. Before Temple Bound began organizing regular visits, many temple workers struggled just to reach the temple.
Now, they are able to serve monthly, and they are filled with joy.
She expressed:
-
That temple workers might attend twice per month, since more than 27 workers serve and not all can attend each time.
-
That young men and young women be brought more regularly to strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ.
-
That during school holidays, youth could attend weekly, divided into groups with temple workers accompanying them.
Their testimony was clear: worship in the Lord’s house brings great blessings. It strengthens the Saints, increases obedience, and deepens faith in Christ and His living prophet.
“If We Strive to Come, We Will Succeed”
Pinky Mahendra shared simple but profound truths. She is grateful to be in the temple. She feels the Spirit there. And she believes that as we strive to come to the temple and obey God’s commandments, we will succeed in this life.
Her words echo the experience of many who attended this February trip.
A Trip That Strengthened Faith
This temple journey was marked by:
-
Gratitude for access to the House of the Lord
-
Sacred ordinances performed for loved ones
-
Comfort after loss
-
Renewed commitment to covenants
-
A growing desire to bring youth and temple workers more often
For these Saints, the temple is not simply a building, it is the House of the Lord. It is where sadness is lifted, questions are answered, covenants are made, and faith is strengthened.
Temple Bound remains committed to helping faithful members overcome financial and logistical barriers so they can experience the blessings of temple worship.
And as this February trip made clear—those blessings are eternal.
