17 Saints Travel from Brazzaville to the Kinshasa DRC Temple
August 17–19, 2026
From August 17–19, 2026, 17 members from Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, traveled to the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple for three days of temple worship, service, and spiritual renewal.
Led by Gayouele Anga Belle-Vie, GEC Manager, this was the first of two Temple Bound trips from Brazzaville to the Kinshasa Temple during the month of August.
For many in the group, it had been a long time since they had been able to attend the temple. Gayouele described the opportunity as “a great gift from the Lord” and an amazing experience for all who participated.
During their time at the temple, the group completed:
- 62 baptisms
- 37 confirmations
- 28 endowments
- 12 sealings
Feeling the Love of Generations
One particularly meaningful experience came from Sister Mvoutou, a returned missionary and BYU–Pathway student. She brought family names with her to the temple and had the opportunity to perform proxy sealings for her grandparents.
As the sealer pronounced the blessings of eternal families, Sister Mvoutou felt the love and gratitude of her grandparents. It was a powerful reminder of the connection between temple worship, family history, and Heavenly Father’s plan to unite families eternally.
For these 17 Saints, the journey to Kinshasa was about much more than traveling across a border. It gave them an opportunity to serve loved ones who had passed away by performing sacred ordinances on their behalf, strengthen their testimonies of the sanctity and power of temple covenants, and reflect upon their own promises to the Lord.
Through those covenants, participants returned home with renewed strength, faith, and hope in Jesus Christ.
Through the generosity of Temple Bound donors, these 17 Saints were given the opportunity to return to the House of the Lord and serve both the living and those who have gone before them.
