55 Saints from Eldoret Travel to the Nairobi Kenya Temple
August 12–15, 2026
From August 12–15, 2026, 55 members from the Eldoret District traveled to the Nairobi Kenya Temple for several days of temple worship, service, and spiritual growth.
Members participated in sacred ordinances including proxy baptisms and confirmations. For some, the trip also provided opportunities to serve in the temple in new ways.
Bruce Melikuria of the Mwanza Branch was attending the temple for only the second time. Since his previous visit, he had been ordained a priest, allowing him to perform proxy baptisms for the first time.
“This is the first time I’ve had the chance to baptize anyone… that’s a very nice privilege for me.”
Stella Akinye Gwiri shared her gratitude for the opportunity to feel the Spirit and strengthen her testimony, while Joseph Israel described the special peace he found in the temple:
“Since I came to the temple, this is the only place that I find peace.”
The trip also brought members from different branches together, creating new friendships while giving them multiple days to worship and serve in the House of the Lord.
Through the support of Temple Bound donors, these 55 Saints were given the opportunity to spend several days at the temple and return home with strengthened testimonies and a desire to return again.
Every temple trip changes more than one life—it strengthens families, wards, branches, and generations.
